River Sunset Tour Cruise, Sip & Paint

Time & Location
28 Feb 2026, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Caroni Swamp, Caroni Swamp, Trinidad and Tobago
Event Details
The main attraction at this mangrove is the chance to witness the ritualistic roosting behavior of thousands of bright red birds close to sunset. These birds travel daily to the Venezuelan mainland to feed and return to the swamp at dusk, covering a distance of over 10 miles. The mangrove trees offer nesting sites for migratory birds, making them ideal for birdwatchers. Flat-bottom boats regularly tour the mangrove. The Caroni Swamp is Trinidad's largest mangrove wetland, featuring a network of natural and dredged channels. About 20 minutes inside, there is an open pond area where our boats gather, allowing visitors to watch the ibis return while enjoying a sip and paint session.
